This sleeping bag has met all of my expectations. I’ve used the Coleman Rimstone (now discontinued) in the past so I was searching for something similar. I camped out in 43-degree weather with this sleeping bag and stayed perfectly warm and comfortable through the night. I don’t think I’ve ever slept so well while camping. I expect that I would easily stay warm in lower temperatures in this bag. Best of all, it successfully zips together with the Rimstone to make a double bag. The flannel that lines this bag is less soft than that in the Rimstone, but I expect it will soften up with use. The flashlight pocket is convenient, but be careful, I accidentally bashed myself in the face with my flashlight while sleeping.

nice bag, but awkward tie-up, September 27, 2010

The bag was comfortable & plush. Kept me & my daughter warm in 60 degree evening temp, but that might be too warm for others who get hot easily. I’m sure we would’ve been comfortable in cooler temps as well.

The tie-up is supposed to be easy, but I think it’s awkward and doesn’t make for a smoothly rolled up bag once it’s tied. Also, I think this sleeping bag should come with a carrying bag, but it doesn’t. I guess I’ll have to make my own.

@brockpierce1984 Sorry it took so long to reply but yeah this bag doesn’t roll up very small either. It rolls up and measures about 18 ” by 11″. I plan to get a Marmot Aspen 40 degree bag and getting a liner to make it about a 20 degree bag. Thanks for commenting on the video!

  • mbtennis17 says:

@brockpierce1984 Yeah i really like it a lot . I usually just put mine in a stuff sack that is about 17x 11 Inches which is rather large. But when i go camping in colder weather, i usually don’t hike very far.

  • brockpierce1984 says:

Thats a nice sleeping bag. I like the fact that you can easily remove the sleeping sheet ( for washing ) or just to regulate the temp.

How small can you fold this type of bag?

I used to have a bag which goes to a temp of minus 4 degrees, which I ve been and kept me warm….but that bag was not very small to fold / roll away.

I’m going to the canyons in Utah and AZ. This was sleeping bag recommended to me. My zero bag has a zipper in the foot of it to allow ventilation. I sure do like it and it got down to 39 last week end and I was plenty warm. Good video.
